FFPE tissue DNA and RNA purification is an important step in gathering the information you need to complete your work. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue is one of the most widely practiced methods for clinical sample preservation and archiving. While standard for histopathology and microscopic investigation, FFPE tissue samples pose a major challenge for molecular pathologists because nucleic acids are heavily modified and trapped by extensive protein-nucleic acid and protein-protein cross linking. Due to the valuable nature of the FFPE samples, it is paramount that an extraction protocol yields high recovery of DNA/RNA, while also to avoid extensive degradation so that it is amenable for further analysis. Our DNA and RNA purification methods allow for the maximum amount of data collection and preservation.
As one of the leading manufacturers for FFPE DNA and RNA extraction kits, we have a complete line of tools for extracting FFPE samples. Validated by numerous third-party laboratories, our kit-based chemistry typically recovers 2-3x more DNA/RNA than the competitor kits.
- DNA suitable for downstream qPCR, microarray, next generation sequencing
- Sections, slides, core punches
- Scalable – Few samples to thousands of samples per day (high throughput automation)

Expected Yield: The yield of FFPE samples is highly variable depending on the age, storage condition, fixation method, tissue cellularity and many other factors. We have processed tens of thousands of samples from very different sources, and typically several micrograms of DNA or RNA can be extracted from a 10 micron section. Quite frequently, we can achieve a yield of more than 50 µg.
