In Omega Bioservices, we offered COVID testing of the viral RNA using RT-PCR, with a standard turnaround time of < 24 hours and a premium turnaround time of < 12 hours. The Applied Biosystems TaqPath COVID-19 Combo Kit is used to provide a fast, highly sensitive multiplex diagnostic solution that contains the assays and controls needed for the real-time PCR detection of RNA from the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Features of the multiplex diagnostic solution:

  • A complete workflow from viral RNA extraction from up to 94 specimens and genetic analysis using real-time PCR to diagnostic report generation in under 4 hours
  • Targeted specificity to 100% of currently available complete genomes for SARS-CoV-2
  • Assay targets spike (S), nucleocapsid (N), and Orf1ab (ORF1ab) protein regions having higher specificity and exhibiting lower risk for mutation

RPP Testing

Based on the Applied Biosystems TrueMark Repiratory Panel 2.0,  we custom-designed an RPP panel that targets on 24  respiratory tract viral and bacterial microbes, including SARS-CoV-2:

  • Extensive coverage—featuring a higher number of respiratory pathogenic organism targets than similar competitor products
  • Cost-effective workflow—lowest cost per sample when compared with other commercially available molecular solutions
  • Multiple sample input types—including nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), and nasopharyngeal aspirate.
